Manufacturing facility — forging, machining and testing in one chain
Keeping forging, heat treatment and machining on the same site removes the hand-offs where dimensions drift and heat numbers get mixed. It also means a non-standard part can be trialled, measured and corrected without a supplier round trip.
The sections below describe the process route, the main equipment and the checks performed at each stage. If you need a specific capability — large rings, alloy grades, RTJ faces, third-party witness — ask before ordering; we will confirm it in writing.

Production route
Forging
Open die, closed die and ring rolling. Heating and reduction schedules are recorded so the forging ratio is known for each part.
Heat treatment
Normalising, quenching and tempering, annealing and carburising in programmable furnaces with chart records.
Machining
CNC turning, milling and boring for faces, bores, bolt patterns, RTJ grooves and threads.
Inspection
Dimensional, chemical, mechanical, UT, MT, PT and PMI checks against the ITP.
Packing
Anti-rust protection, face caps, export cases or pallets, marking and the full document set.
Key equipment
| Equipment | Specification | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Open die forging press | 2,000–5,000 t | 3 units |
| Closed die forging press | 1,000–2,500 t | 4 units |
| Ring rolling mill | OD 500–4,000 mm | 2 units |
| CNC lathe | Various capacities | 20+ units |
| CNC machining centre | 5-axis capability | 10+ units |
| Heat treatment furnace | Programmable, up to 1,200 °C | 8 units |
Equipment list is indicative — confirm the machine and capacity for your part when requesting a quotation.
Checks at every stage
- Incoming material: certificate review, PMI and dimensional check
- In-process: forging temperature, reduction schedule, heat-treatment chart
- Final: dimensional report, NDT per ITP, visual and marking check
- Documentation: MTC 3.1, inspection report, packing list, photos before loading
Full testing detail is on the quality page; the NDT guide explains which test to specify.
